Al- Shahar magazine
in its issue N: 102 December 2001, has an interview with
May Kochha, which we took from this extract:
What was the name of the exhibition that you participated
in lately in The Meridian Hotel in Damascus, and what was
its purpose?
It is Al- Baja' a Exhibition which is successful and comprehensive,
established every few months in The Meridian Hotel in Damascus
supervised and carried out by Mr. Nabeel Marzouk, and we
are one of the main coordinators in those exhibitions that
the last one we participated in was Antique And Decoration,
which got highly admired of all its Visitors.
How do you accomplish the design of your thoughts for a
project before you start doing it, and do you offer more
than one suggestion to your customer artistically speaking,
or even according to the cost?
Before starting to design or carry out any thoughts to any
project there will be discussion meetings to figure out
the beauty that the customer desires, then we prepare for
him many designs with different budgets; but of course we
are interested to make a distinct work regardless to The
money we get.
How do you compromise the combination of taste with technology?
And does your gusto find who grants with it technically?
In fact Syria is famous For its skillful and creative hand
crafts that help us to find solutions to keep the piece
beautiful without decreasing its technique.
Do books, paintings, and statues have a place in your design?
Of course, because there must be a library in every house,
and every office according to its jurisdiction, also art
works are required no matter if they are paintings, statues,
presents, or even plants, because they create a kind of
permanent dialogue with the eyes of the beholder, and on
the other hand, cover the gaps with beautiful formations.
